What was the challenge?
A supply chain consultancy advising retailers and manufacturers on inventory planning, network design and procurement was invisible outside referrals. Its blog covered news, not problems, and operations directors searching "how to reduce inventory carrying costs" or "warehouse network design UAE" found the big global firms. ChatGPT and Perplexity did not mention it for any GCC supply chain question.
What was the strategy?
- 01
Write about the problems buyers search before they look for a consultant
- 02
Publish original GCC data that others cite and link to
- 03
Make the firm's expertise visible to AI assistants as well as Google
What exactly was done?
4 moves, each with what was done and why it mattered.
- 01Content
Problem-led content
Replaced news posts with guides on inventory carrying costs, safety stock, S&OP, network design and supplier risk, each written with a partner and ending with a relevant service.
Why it mattered: Operations leaders search the problem, not the consultancy. Practical answers from named partners brought them in at the start of the buying process.
- 02Authority
An annual GCC supply chain survey
Ran a survey of 140 supply chain leaders across the GCC and published the findings as an interactive report with downloadable charts.
Why it mattered: Original data is the most linkable content there is. The report earned 38 links from news, trade and university sites in its first three months.
- 03AI search
Built visibility in AI answers
Added clear definitions, FAQ sections and author bios with credentials, and made sure the firm was described consistently across LinkedIn, directories and press.
Why it mattered: AI assistants lean on clear, consistent and well-cited sources. Within six months the firm was named in answers to several GCC supply chain questions.
- 04Conversion
Diagnostic offers on every guide
Offered a free 30-minute supply chain diagnostic at the end of each guide, booked straight into the partners' calendars.
Why it mattered: A low-commitment next step suits a long B2B buying cycle and turned readers into conversations.
What do I stand for?
Expertise has to be visible
A consultancy is judged on its thinking. Publishing it under partners' names is what wins trust from search.
Data earns links
Original research earns links and citations that no amount of outreach can buy.
