What was the challenge?
A 180-bed private hospital had more than 200 doctors, but their profiles sat behind a search widget Google could not crawl. Specialty pages were brochure copy with no answers on procedures, costs or insurers, and "maternity package Dubai" searches went to competitors and forums. The site had grown through three redesigns and carried over 4,000 orphaned or duplicate URLs.
What was the strategy?
- 01
Turn the doctor directory into crawlable, rich profile pages linked from every specialty
- 02
Rebuild each service line as a hub that answers procedure, cost and insurance questions
- 03
Clean up the technical debt so Google spends its crawl on the pages that book appointments
What exactly was done?
4 moves, each with what was done and why it mattered.
- 01Doctor directory
Made every doctor findable
Replaced the JavaScript search widget with static profile pages for 214 doctors, each with qualifications, DHA licence number, languages, conditions treated, clinic days and a booking button, plus Physician schema.
Why it mattered: Many patients search a doctor's name or "cardiologist who speaks Arabic". Crawlable profiles turned those searches into appointments and became the largest single source of organic bookings.
- 02Service lines
Rebuilt twelve specialty hubs
Gave each specialty a hub page with the procedures offered, preparation and recovery, typical cost ranges, insurers accepted and the doctors in that department, all reviewed by the head of department.
Why it mattered: A hospital competes with every clinic in the city for procedure searches. Depth, named specialists and medical review are what let a hospital page outrank a clinic's single-service page.
- 03Insurance
Published one page per insurance network
Built pages for the 22 insurance networks the hospital accepts, listing covered departments and how direct billing works, linked from each relevant specialty.
Why it mattered: "Hospital that accepts [insurer]" is a high-intent search in Dubai. Answering it clearly removed the most common reason patients called to ask before booking.
- 04Technical SEO
Removed 4,000+ dead and duplicate URLs
Redirected or removed old-redesign URLs, fixed canonical tags on Arabic pages, and rebuilt the XML sitemap around live doctor and service pages.
Why it mattered: Google was wasting crawl on pages nobody needed. After the cleanup, new doctor profiles were indexed within days instead of weeks.
What do I stand for?
Patients book doctors, not buildings
The doctor is often the search. A hospital site should make every specialist as findable as the hospital itself.
Clinicians approve clinical content
Each specialty page was reviewed by its head of department before going live, and re-reviewed every six months.
